The latest one is called ‘Petit théâtre de poche’ and the entire set was handmade from recycled materials, created to develop puppetry arts and a place that appeals to people of all ages, even from the very young. New

The brand-new ‘Maison de la Culture et de la Citoyenneté’ has a great show venue, that can be adapted to various uses. In just a few months the ‘Maison du Cirque’ will be opening its doors in the Reyssouze district. This is an achievement for this town where circus art is already highly popular thanks to a must-see festival in the spring called Br’Ain de Cirque, organised behind the Royal Monastery of Brou.

The Ferme à Jazz

The Ferme à Jazz has moved locations around the town but it is most definitely a historic institution. This jazz venue holds all sorts of groove and jazz events in an ancient farm building and stands out in a quickly evolving modern district.

Les Arts dans l'R

If you are more into Parisian-style cabarets, the ‘Les Arts dans l’R’ venue in Péronnas organises evenings of stand-up comedy, more general comedy and festive ‘boulevard theatre’. You can also eat there.

Bourg-en-Bresse Theatre

This theatre is the hotspot for the cultural scene of Bourg-en-Bresse and has been recognised as a place of national interest. All sorts of productions are organised behind the elegant 18th-century facade in the town centre, including of course plays, dancing, puppet shows, circus, music and song. Various other public events are organised at the P’tit Forum.

For those looking for big names and major events, you’ll need to go to the south side of the town. The Ainterexpo and Ekinox venues are located side-by-side and have been designed to welcome all the major events coming to Bourg-en-Bresse!
