Bernard Clavel Library
Cultural, Library - media library
in Courmangoux
-
The Bernard Clavel library moved to new premises in June 2022.
15 volunteer librarians run the facility, which now boasts over 150 readers, which is quite something for a small village of 500 inhabitants. -
Bernard Clavel lived for many years in the hamlet of La Courbatière, where he wrote his last novels. This library was the first to bear his name, and it was with great emotion that he gave his approval. Bernard Clavel donated all his published works to the Courmangoux library. The library now has his complete works.
Membership of the library is free. You can borrow as many books as you like, for a period of 3 weeks. The library is open every Saturday from 10am to 12pm and every Wednesday...Bernard Clavel lived for many years in the hamlet of La Courbatière, where he wrote his last novels. The library has a wide selection of books: novels, detective stories, documentaries, comics, children's books and albums, large-print books and books from the audio library for the visually impaired...
The "communication - sport - leisure - culture" committee is behind this initiative, supported by a group of dedicated and dynamic volunteers (elected and non-elected).
To bring the library to life, events and exhibitions are organized from time to time.
