  • The Bresse Museum and Domaine des Planons Farm is one of Ain’s major cultural attractions, located on the border of Beaujolais, a short drive from Lyon and Geneva, at the heart of Bresse. Spread across over 3,000 m2 of exhibition space, the museum and farm provide an insight into this gastronomic region, from the 15th century to today.

  • The contemporary setting of the museum showcases the Bresse way of life and traditional dress, Bresse enamelling and precious jewellery thanks to the region’s unique expertise, not forgetting the rich, Michelin-starred gastronomy of this food-loving region – Bresse chicken is the most famous example of this, and can be found on the menu at the finest dining establishments across France and abroad.

Located on an area of 48 hectares, "La Ferme des Planons" is the highlight of the visit. Classified as a historical monument, it is a remarkable example of the architecture of Bresse with arcaded galleries and Saracen chimney. The farm’s interior has been authentically reconstructed to transport in 1784.
Across the estate, the famous blue-footed Bresse chickens reign supreme, while the giant games and picnic area under old oak trees invite you to stay a little longer. Finally, a stop off at the gift shop will nicely round off your trip.

The museum organises a busy programme of cultural events for all ages. It is awarded the Musée de France and Tourisme & Handicap (Tourism & Disability) labels guaranteeing the quality and making it an unmissable stop on your trip.
