A rather hilly walk, to discover a charming Revermont village nestled in the hollow of its valley: Salavre ("selaw" meaning rock).
One objective, to go around the reculée de la Roche by the Mt-Rion and the perched chapels. -
Before setting off to conquer the hills, take the time to stroll through the narrow streets of the village: an old habitat typical of Revermont's architecture with houses made of local stone and beautiful vaulted cellars as a testimony to its winegrowing past, fountains, wash houses, St Antoine's church with its domed bell tower...
The village is dedicated to the cult of Mary, and its lands were once a place of great religious fervor. Its heritage illustrates it well.

The village is dedicated to the cult of Mary, and its lands were once a place of great religious fervor. Its heritage illustrates it well.
Inaugurated on October 15, 1854, the ORATORY OF NOTRE DAME DE LA ROCHE is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is located at the bottom of a wooded valley, on the site of La Roche, hence its name. A Virgin and Child is placed on a narrow platform, a kind of balcony of a cave chimney.
The CHAPEL OF DINGIER under the name of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
was erected in 1882 near a calvary dating from the 16th century. With its very elaborate composition, it is surprisingly reminiscent of Breton calvaries. Built on the rock and consolidated by 12 buttresses, this chapel offers a modest style.
The CHAPEL OF ST REMI DU MONT : built in the XII°- XIII° century in place of a church, probably built in the VI° century on the remains of a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to Mercury and Apollo.
This ancient parish church, until the revolution, was a place of pilgrimage. A recent restoration has brought to light fragments of frescoes and a
fragments of frescoes and a slate roof. Permanent exhibition
dedicated to the saints, formerly honored in the village.
