Parc des Oiseaux

One experience, five continents

The biggest bird park in Europe

Have you heard of the Dombes? It is known as the ‘land of a thousand lakes’. It is right at the heart of this atypical region that you’ll find a wildlife park that is even more atypical. The one-of-a-kind Parc des Oiseaux of Villars-les-Dombes, is 25 km south-west of Bourg-en-Bresse, on the way to Lyon. It is even considered to be the biggest bird park in Europe. Impressive, don’t you think?!

Fancy going on a round-the-world trip ?

Set off on a round-the-world trip with more than 3,000 birds from all continents,
and in landscaped areas that have been adapted to resemble their original habitat.
See things from the birds’ perspective, not by flying yourself of course, but by enjoying the view over the treetops from the 27-metre-high viewing tower.
From up there, you’ll have a unique view of the birds, the stork’s nests as well as the lakes of the Dombes region and the Revermont and Beaujolais mountains.

Be an ornithologist for a day

Extraordinary experiences both in the air and on the ground. To get as close to the birds as possible and experience something unique, see what it’s like to be a zookeeper or an ornithologist on this immersive visit.

The grand finale

How about watching a bird show ? The park’s amphitheatre springs to life in a ballet of colours, where vultures, pelicans and parrots all fly through the air, much to the delight of people of all ages in the audience.
